Change Log | SkySilk Cloud Platform beta v0.2008 – 01/02/2017

We made some changes to our Cloud Platform beta since you last visited, we hope you like them! As always, your feedback and suggestions are always welcomed. See the full change log here:

In this version (beta v0.2008):

    • Added LXC container Functionality – LXC Containers will allow for us to offer rapid deployment of many prebuilt applications such as web servers, CMS systems, and many more in the near future. *Note, beta users should copy the state of any VMs deployed before (1/1/17) and redeploy them now that the update is complete.
  • Added Debian 8.0 OS with a lot more to come to available templates – SkySilk is now Debian friendly! Feel free to spin up Debian based machines at your leisure.
  • Password secured VMs – You can now use a custom password to login to VMs as an alternative to SSH Keys. This is will be important for a future update when we add in our Web SSH Console.
  • All plans now feature Unlimited Transfer – This wasn’t as clear as it could have been before, we have cleaned it up a bit. All plans now state that they include unlimited transfer.

*Unlimited transfer available for a limited time while in beta only and is subject to change.

  • Added backups toggle to VM creation page– You can now enable automatic backups while setting up a virtual machine.
  • Added customer feedback survey. All beta users are welcomed to participate in our short customer feedback survey; all beta users who complete the survey will be credited 500 SkyPoints to be used once the cloud platform goes live. The customer feedback survey can be accessed from the VM Dashboard while logged in.
  • Added disclaimer for RewardsWe have made the SkySilk Rewards redemption process while in beta more transparent. SkyPoints earned in Beta will be valid, however they won’t be available for redemption until we take the cloud platform live. We added some disclaimer text to make this clearer.
    • Updated UI/UX – We are always looking for ways to improve our user experience. This version features simplistic designs with updated graphics, logos, text, and landing pages. The ability to scale resources and change plans should now be easier to find on the VM Dashboard, and navigating the user dashboard should feel smoother overall.
  • Minor bug fixes and improvements – We’re constantly squashing…you can help us squash bugs better by Filing A Bug Report.

We would love to know what you think. Let us know here!
